1 Extend Educator travels to Blue St. SHORE campus to collect the children in Years 3-6 from Blue Street using the Schools Sports bus. The

children are driven to 55 Sailors Bay Road, Northbridge, NSW 2063 with the Extend Educator.

Educator to discuss the guidelines of appropriate behaviour when travelling on the bus with children. Educator to stand at the bottom of the stairs/door when children are embarking and disembarking the bus. Children to embark and disembark the bus one at a time.

Ensure bus drivers hold appropriate licences and insurance.

Educator to discuss the guidelines of appropriate behaviour when travelling on the bus with children. Ensure all children are wearing seatbelts and sitting down appropriately with one child to a seat.

Children should be provided with frequent opportunities to go to the toilet.

Educators to conduct hazard checks of the bathrooms, prior to service opening hours, to ensure bathrooms are safe and clean for children to use.

Children are required to tell an Educator if they need to go to the toilet.

Educator will provide child with a toilet pass which will be returned to the administering Educator on the childs return.

Educators to ensure the bathroom entrance/exit is within the line of sight from where they are supervising in the quad/playground.

Educators and Children will have regular group discussions surrounding the safe and appropriate use of bathrooms. Children to be reminded of the bathrooms that can be utilised during service hours, including the preferred bathrooms situated near to the Infants classrooms.

Educators and Children will have regular group discussions surrounding the boundaries of the outdoor service spaces. Children to be reminded of the safe outdoor areas that can be utilised during service hours, as they may differ from spaces during school hours.

Educators to ensure they are actively supervising whilst participating in any activity.

Educators to complete regular head counts throughout service opening hours and record these on our sign-in/sign-out record.

Educators to follow recommended supervision ratios, at all times.

If a child has been identified as missing, the Educator must notify all Educators at the service.

Educator to settle all other children into a safe area, whilst a second Educator actively searches for the missing child.

In discussion with the Operations Manager, police are to be notified if the child cannot be located within 10 minutes.

Parents must be notified of the incident by the Service Coordinator.

Childrens shoe laces must be tied at all times and any tripping hazards must be identified prior to walking to the rooms and rectified immediately by the service Educators.

All childrens medical information is current and is taken to each approved space, or excursion, with the child.

All child information to be kept in the enrolment folder, easily accessible to the Educators and Service Coordinator, (transportation purposes) at all times.

Children must always wear sunscreen and closed toe shoes.

Educators to ensure children apply sunscreen prior to exiting the indoor space to participate in an outdoor activity.

Educators and children will spend as much time in shaded areas as possible.

Ensure all children carry water bottles with them to each approved space and are regularly reminded and given the opportunity to refill their bottle.

Ensure Service Coordinator and Educators carry their own water bottles, wear hats and have sunscreen with them.
